The Washington Football Team will finish out their remaining eight games with a 5-3 record. That is right--- the Football Team will win games, they will look better, and they will be a competent and competitive team the rest of the year.... Even in their losses.

One of the hallmarks of a Ron Rivera coached team is that they play better in the 2nd half of the season. Prior to the bye week we had seen small incremental steps forward on defense. That's not so say that they're where we all thought the defense should be but, they certainly took steps forward. Against the Bucs, it finally all came together for the defense. Jack Del Rio had the right game plan called on Sunday, holding Brady to only 220 yds passing. In the last few games the offense had been moving the ball but could not score points of any kind . That all changed on Sunday as the WFT offense relied on a heavy dose of Antonio Gibson to keep the Tampa Bay defense from finding any real footing in the game.

Rivera has continually preached that this team needs to be mature, mentally tough, and smart. He has stressed that the players should do the little things right every day at practice and in the games. All that teaching seems to have finally clicked for the WFT and those lessons learned will lead the team to a 5-3 record down the stretch. Tanking doesn’t live here.
