The Washington Commanders tamed the Denver Broncos on Sunday. The Commanders scored a season high 35 points to move to (2-0) on the young season. Let's see how the team performed.

*Podcast video reaction is at the end of the article*

Offense

The offense got off to a solid start by moving the ball between the 20's but settled for a FG & missed FG early. From about halfway through the second quarter the offense kicked it into warp speed and everything took off from there. QB Sam Howell made throw after throw some with a high degree of difficulty. The sideline throw to TE John Bates to beat the safety and the TD pass to WE Terry McLaurin were a thing of beauty. RB Brian Robinson Jr found his stride for 87yds rushing for 4.8ypc and 2 TD's. OC Eric Bieniemy showed great feel with his timely play calling. His ability to make adjustments has been impressive so far.

Grade: A+

Defense

The defense after another slow start was fantastic. They harassed QB Russell Wilson all day getting 7 sacks and an interception. The defense was not perfect giving up 33 points, even allowing a Hail Mary TD pass to be completed. Good effort on the day.

Grade: B+

Special Teams

LS Cameron Cheeseman again had another bad snap. K Joey Slye missed two fields goals. The return game/punting was solid.

Grade: C+

Coaching

The defensive coaching was better as they made adjustments after starting slow. Rivera made a questionable decision to kick a 59yd (missed) field goal instead of punting and pinning the opponent inside their territory. Bieniemy was excellent. Overall coaching was good.

Grade: B+
