feds are investigating Snyder's finances
*****************************************
Talk about a bombshell.
On an otherwise mundane Wednesday while most of us were finally recovering from our Halloween candy hangovers, Forbes.com dropped a bomb on the NFL world.
(Paywall warning)
“Dan Snyder Hires Bank of America to Sell Washington Commanders”
Those words had to be written because if they were spoken, they might well be drowned out by the singing of an angelic choir. Fans of the team have admonished themselves from dreaming of such a day, as NFL Owners are an elite club that once you’re in, you’re in.
Well, it appears it is now safe to dream. The team released a statement shortly after the article dropped that did nothing to dispel the visions of Jeff Bezos swirling in fans’ heads.
Previous statements always ended with some form of “we aren’t selling,” but this one only confirmed the headline.
This is only the first step in what will undoubtedly be a long, arduous and possibly ugly process, but it it is the first step nonetheless.
After 23 years in the tunnel, we might finally be seeing the light at the end.
Stay tuned.
